NBC News reports: Thirty minutes ago, the employee who bought tickets to CEO Andy Byron’s concert was immediately fired and angrily posted, “I got blamed, then immediately fired and forced to…”-tn

Just 30 minutes ago, a sudden and dramatic development erupted in the growing scandal surrounding Astronomer CEO Andy Byron, who was previously caught on a kiss cam with his coworker Kristin Cabot at a Coldplay concert. Today, another layer of corporate chaos emerged when the employee who originally purchased Byron’s concert tickets was abruptly fired and has since taken to social media to express his outrage.

According to the now-viral post, the anonymous employee—believed to be part of the company’s events or logistics team—was called into a brief meeting today and fired, effective immediately. The post, which has been widely shared on Twitter, Reddit, and even internal Slack screenshots have been leaked to the media, reads:  “I was blamed, immediately fired, and forced to sign an NDA. They said I ‘facilitated an inappropriate situation.’ I just did my job. I booked the tickets. Period.”

The employee went on to say he felt “used” and “betrayed” after being scapegoated for what is widely considered a public relations disaster for Astronomer. “They knew I wanted those positions for a reason. Everyone knew. Now I’m the scapegoat,” he wrote, claiming that senior management had approved the expenses without objection at the time.

The online reaction was swift and fierce. The post was flooded with comments, many criticizing Astronomer’s leadership for what appears to be a desperate attempt to shift blame away from the CEO himself. “This company just keeps sinking deeper into its problems,” one user commented. Another added: “Classic corporate manipulation. They’re punishing employees for their boss’s affair.”

People familiar with the situation suggest the firing may have been coordinated as a damage control measure. “The HR department was desperate since the video went viral,” one anonymous employee revealed. “They were trying to plug the holes in a sinking ship, and that poor man was thrown overboard.”

Meanwhile, the original scandal involving Andy Byron and Kristin Cabot continues to escalate. Byron, once considered a rising star in the startup ecosystem, has gone from celebrated executive to controversial figure overnight. His passionate moment with Cabot during the Coldplay concert has sparked widespread speculation about internal ethics violations, favoritism, and abuse of power. Cabot, who was recently promoted, is also under review, according to anonymous reports within the company.

To add fuel to the fire, Byron was seen today leaving the company’s San Francisco headquarters through the back exit, avoiding reporters who had gathered after learning of the firing. His legal team has declined to comment on the pending investigations or the employee’s dismissal, but several former Astronomer employees have expressed solidarity with the dismissed employee.

“I left that place six months ago because I couldn’t stand the toxicity,” a former marketing manager tweeted. “Firing someone just because they got tickets is ridiculous. This is all Byron’s fault and everyone knows it.”

Industry analysts say this series of events could have lasting consequences for Astronomer’s reputation and the confidence of potential investors. “This is no longer just about a kiss or a concert,” said crisis management consultant Lena Rowe. “It’s now about leadership accountability, misuse of resources, and retaliatory firings. Astronomer is fast becoming a case study in what not to do during a scandal.”

Attempts to reach the fired employee for further comment have been unsuccessful so far, though his initial post ended ominously with:  “I have screenshots, receipts, and emails. If you think you can silence me with a single paycheck and a signature, you’re sorely mistaken.”

The internet is already preparing for what could be the next big thing. As more current and former employees begin to speak out, one thing is abundantly clear: this situation is far from over. In fact, it could be just the beginning of a much deeper unraveling within one of Silicon Valley’s most volatile tech companies.

And as for Andy Byron, his future now hangs in the balance, not just as CEO, but as a leader under intense scrutiny over what some are calling “the Coldplay collapse.”
