Jalen Carter doesn’t hold any grudge against Dak Prescott for the spit-gate incident. Carter admitted that he made a terrible mistake.
The Philadelphia Eagles grabbed a crucial 24-20 win over the Dallas Cowboys to start their title defense on Thursday. Yet, the outcome could have been very different, as the Eagles played without Carter for the entire game.
Carter was sent for an extremely early shower after the referee caught him spitting on the Dallas Cowboys quarterback. It also means a de facto ban from the week two fixture.
Despite the disappointing turn of events, Carter isn’t angry at Prescott. The 24-year-old blamed himself for his immature behavior.

A packed Lincoln Financial Stadium was stunned to see an official throw a penalty flag before the kickoff. Confused fans watched in silence until the ref announced the ejection of Jalen Carter from the game.
Pool reporter for The Athletic, Zach Berman, asked Referee Shawn Smith to explain the reason behind Carter’s dismissal. Smith revealed that one of the officials observed Carter spitting on Prescott. In their book, Carter’s actions are equivalent to a disqualifiable foul.
For a brief moment, Carter became a target for online trolls. However, it did not take long for the narrative to change.

An extended version of the clip caught the entire ordeal on camera. The footage shocked everyone. Prescott was revealed to have instigated the situation that led to Carter spitting on him.
When asked to explain his role in Carter’s send-off, Prescott claimed he was defending his rookie lineman from banter.
After the penalty flag was thrown, Prescott thought that the Cowboys would be awarded a 15-yard gain, but he didn’t realize that Carter would be ejected from the game. The Cowboys had to alter their game plans.
Prescott kept the Cowboys in the game despite All-Pro receiver CeeDee Lamb dropping four easy catches. He finished with 21 successful passes for 188 yards (61% completion). The Cowboys host the New York Giants in week two, while the Eagles travel to Arrowhead Stadium and play the Kansas City Chiefs.
