BREAKING NEWS: Patrick Mahomes reveals the key to beating the Ravens – But the Kansas City Chiefs offense has yet to execute it successfully. According to Mahomes, victory can only come when the Kansas City Chiefs offense maintains a steady pace and takes full advantage of the gaps that the Ravens defense leaves. However, what worries fans is that the Chiefs have yet to successfully execute this strategy, as the coordination between Mahomes and…

Injuries have played a big role in that, as has lack of a quality rushing attack. The unit may need to have its best output of the season against the Ravens on Sunday, as Baltimore has the No. 1 scoring offense in the NFL thus far, averaging a whopping 37 points per game.

Kansas City’s offense has been slow out of the gate in all three games this season. The Chiefs found themselves in a 10-0 hole in Week 1 against the Los Angeles Chargers, and were down 7-0 to the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 2 until late in the second quarter.

K.C. never trailed against the New York Giants last week, but its first touchdown didn’t come until midway through the third quarter, scoring just two field goals up until that point. While speaking to the media on Wednesday, Mahomes said getting off to a fast start against the Ravens has been a point of emphasis during practice this week.

“We got to start faster,” Mahomes said. “I think every game we’ve said that, but we haven’t really got to do that. We were moving the ball early in the game last week, but we were settling for field goals. When you play teams that are really good and have dynamic quarterbacks like the Ravens do, you got to turn those into touchdowns.

“That will not only put pressure on them, but it unleashes Spags (Chiefs defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo) to be able to do what he wants to do. You always see when we get leads, he’s a great finisher. He’s a great closer, able to give you different looks and stuff like that. We got to take pressure off our defense and put pressure onto them (the Ravens) by starting faster, and we can be better at that this week.”

The Ravens may have a high-scoring offense, but they are surrendering the most total yards per game (415), and second most point per game (32) defensively in the NFL. If the Chiefs’ offense can find a way to start fast against an already unconfident Baltimore defense, K.C. could put up its highest point total of the season.
