The Kansas City Chiefs had their best offensive output of the season in their 37-20 Week 4 win over the Baltimore Ravens.

Quarterback Patrick Mahomes also put together his best performance of the year, completing 67 percent of his passes for 270 yards and four touchdowns. He led the offense on seven scoring drives, and its point total of 37 is the most since Week 3 of the 2023 season.Mahomes has had a lot of pressure on his shoulders carrying Kansas City’s offense over the past two years. It was expected that he would get some help in 2025 and the Chiefs would go back to their explosive ways, but the wide receiver corps took a hit right off that bat when Rashee Rice got suspended and Xavier Worthy separated his shoulder.

K.C. got a much-needed boost with Worthy’s return in Week 4, but in the meantime Mahomes has found a groove with other WRs such as Tyquan Thornton and Hollywood Brown. That culminated in Mahomes spreading the ball around against the Ravens’ defense, and according to Next Gen Stats, he was at his best when getting the ball out in under 2.5 seconds.

That is thanks in large part to the speed that WRs like Worthy, Brown, and Thornton possess. JuJu Smith-Schuster and tight end Travis Kelce are also doing a good job getting open quickly in the short-to-intermediate passing game.

We have seen Mahomes make the needed adjustments for what he has to work with on offense each of the last few years. It’s a testament to his knowledge of the game and his versatile skillset. When Rice returns in Week 7, K.C.’s offense will become even more lethal. That’s a scary thought if its trending toward playing like it did against Baltimore more consistently.
