The Pittsburgh Steelers and Green Bay Packers meet this weekend for what could be the best game of the entire Week 8 slate on Sunday Night Football. Aaron Rodgers will take on his former Packers squad as a member of the Steelers.

Superstar Micah Parsons, who is now playing for the Packers after being traded there ahead of the season from the Dallas Cowboys, talked to the media about what it takes to stop Aaron Rodgers.

“I would say don’t let Rodgers get to his spot. When he’s in sync, it’s like poetry. Every throw is on the money, everything has in sync. You have to find ways to disrupt the tendencies, disrupt the spot.”

Rodgers is very elite at reading defenses, and if he has you figured out, you are toast. Defenses excel against Rodgers by disguising what they are going to bring on a given play. You need to do everything you can to try and make Rodgers uncomfortable. Bringing pressure will make any quarterback uncomfortable, but it’s more than just pressure that can really affect Rodgers. You must figure out early on who Rodgers wants to go to in terms of progression. If that is disrupted, you will have a much better shot at stopping him. Rodgers has no choice but to trust his teammates because his days of scrambling and making plays are much more difficult at 41 years of age.

Parsons will be aiming to be one of those disrupters on Sunday night to give his defense a chance to dominate.

Rodgers and the Steelers are coming off a loss to the Cincinnati Bengals last Thursday night. The Packers took down the Arizona Cardinals in a close game, 27-23. Both teams have four wins on the season and will be looking for No. 5 to propel them toward the top of their respective conferences.
