Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Baker Mayfield is a beloved player by many fans around the NFL, but few people care about him as much as his wife, Emily Mayfield.
“Excited for year 8!” she posted to her 224,000 Instagram followers during the Bucs’ preseason.

In Week 2, Mayfield’s team will take on the Houston Texans on ESPN’s “Monday Night Football,” marking a return to his home state for the Austin, Texas, native.
Baker Mayfield’s Wife and Kids
With the support of his family of four — which includes their daughter, Kova Jade Mayfield, and their dog, Fergus — Mayfield is hoping to set the NFL on fire in 2025 and earn his fourth career playoff appearance.
The couple has been married since 2019, welcoming baby Kova in April 2024.

“We’re enjoying life as a family of 4 – Fergus is so gentle & curious,” Emily posted on Instagram shortly after their family grew. “Daddy is so smitten, and Mama wants to pause time forever & make these days last forever.”
How Baker Mayfield Met His Wife Emily Wilkinson
Future Mr. and Mrs. Mayfield were only together for six months before they got engaged. They were introduced by a mutual friend in 2017, and she first caught Baker’s eye by attending a game while he was quarterback for the Oklahoma Sooners, they told Brides magazine.

Formerly Emily Wilkinson, she grew up in Nebraska and moved to Los Angeles before meeting the OU signal-caller.
In a feature by ESPN’s Mina Kimes, Emily revealed the context of their first date, which proved their love would go beyond football.
“I was assuming he’d be the typical playboy athlete,” she said of their first romantic meeting, which was one day before Oklahoma lost to Georgia at the Rose Bowl in the College Football Playoff semifinal.
Mayfield hardly mentioned football on their date, and the devastating 54-48 double-overtime loss ended up allowing their relationship to grow quickly. When the season ended, he stayed in California, moving in with Wilkinson and her brothers three days later.

“We haven’t really been apart since,” she told Brides. “It was love at first sight!”
By helping build her future husband back up after one of the lowest moments of his career, Emily began a pattern of endless love and support that she continues today as Mayfield’s biggest fan.
