Ezeiruaku entered the draft as the 2024 ACC sack leader and was projected as a late first-round selection. Dallas capitalized on his slide to land him in the second round.

Initially expected to work alongside Micah Parsons, the rookie assumed an expanded role after the team traded its star pass rusher. His production in recent weeks has placed him among the most effective first-year defenders in the NFL.

Carter was selected third overall and held the early advantage as the draft class’s premier pass rusher, but Ezeiruaku has closed that gap with steady improvement. Both of his sacks have come within the last three weeks, reflecting his development as the season progresses.

That growth earned him his first career start in Week 9, signaling increased trust from the coaching staff.
