BREAKING NEWS: DeMarcus Lawrence makes a spectacular “resurrection” in Seattle — The 32-year-old former Cowboys star made history in Week 10 with two touchdown returns, leaving Dallas regretful for losing a living legend.

When the Seattle Seahawks took a gamble and signed then-32-year-old DeMarcus Lawrence to a three-year deal, some might have scoffed. That includes Dallas Cowboys fans, as they watched their team give up on Lawrence and let him walk in free agency. Maybe Lawrence was too old to keep producing.

If that thought did exist, and likely it did, the edge rusher is making sure he stamps out any current thought. After playing in just four games last season for Dallas, he has appeared in eight so far for Seattle. He was good through Week 9, but in Week 10, he was special.

In the first half, Lawrence recovered two fumbles after linebacker Tyrice Knight had sacked and forced a fumble from Arizona Cardinals quarterback Jacoby Brissett, and Lawrence picked the ball up and ran into the end zone for a touchdown. Twice.

DeMarcus Lawrence has a special game for the Seattle Seahawks in Week 10

At one point, Seattle led 28-0 in the second quarter, and Lawrence had been responsible for 14 of those points. This also came against a Cardinals team that had beaten the Cowboys in Week 9, so watching Lawrence score against a team that just might have ended the Cowboys’ season might have been doubly tough for Cowboys fans.

For Seahawks fans, though, everything was going beautifully. Not just in Week 10 for Lawrence, but much of the year. He might not get as much consistent pressure on quarterbacks, but he still gets quite a bit. Even more, he is elite against the run, an area where Dallas ranks 25th in the NFL.

Lawrence has four sacks through Week 10, his best since 2022, but likely to exceed the six he had then, and could finish with his most since he had 10.5 in 2018. Lawrence also had 14 run stuffs through his first seven games for Seattle, and it is in run defense that he helps a very good Seahawks defense the most.

Lawrence’s two fumble recoveries for touchdowns in a game match a record that only three defenders had before. One was Jeremy Chinn for the Carolina Panthers in 2020. Until Chinn’s game, the feat had not happened since 1948.

To be clear, DeMarcus Lawrence hasn’t simply been special for the Seattle Seahawks for one game. He has been terrific for much of 2025. He is just the kind of player the Dallas Cowboys defense is missing. 12s can be thankful he plays in the Pacific Northwest.
