The Dallas Cowboys need their starting left tackle on this one.

The Dallas Cowboys have one of the best quarterbacks in the 2025 NFL season in Dak Prescott. On Sunday, it will all be about keeping him upright. The Denver Broncos are averaging five sacks per game through seven weeks and though Prescott has been masterful at evading pressure, his offensive line is going to be challenged on gameday.
That’s why Thursday’s addition to the injury report is one that really hurts. The Cowboys listed left tackle Tyler Guyton as a limited participant due to a glute injury. He practiced fully on Wednesday.
Guyton already missed one game of the regular season to a different injury but now, his status is up in the air entering Week 8. Though backup left tackle Nate Thomas did a decent job in his place, the truth is he would be in a mismatch situation going up against the likes of Broncos EDGE Nik Bonitto and Jonathon Cooper.

The Cowboys will have to figure out ways to help their tackles in protection because the Broncos’ front does an excellent job of occupying everyone on the opponent’s offensive line and forcing one-on-one matchups, allowing their most dynamic players to thrive. Cowboys head coach Brian Schottenheimer’s staff will need to have a plan in place to give Prescott enough time to go to Dallas’ own dynamic playmakers in CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens.
Other Cowboys’ injury news
- Donovan Wilson has missed back-to-back practices and his status isn’t looking promising as he deals with elbow and shoulder injuries. The Cowboys are already down safety Malik Hooker (currently on Injured Reserve) and Juanyeh Thomas has been limited at practice after missing Week 7.
- Trevon Diggs remains in the concussion protocol and his Week 8 status is a mystery. The Cowboys played more man coverage in Week 7, which is Diggs’ strength.
- Nine Cowboys players were limited in practice, with Cooper Beebe being one to watch. The center revealed there’s a possibility he plays in Denver after an IR stint following a Week 2 ankle injury.
