BREAKING: Dallas Cowboys welcome back CeeDee Lamb – but the real shock comes from another serious injury before the big game against the Washington Commanders that has the whole team extremely worried!

Thursday’s injury report for Cowboys vs Commanders is wild.

Dallas Cowboys wide receiver CeeDee Lamb (88) runs the ball after catching a pass against Washington Commanders cornerback Benjamin St-Juste (25) and linebacker Jamin Davis (52) in the second quarter at AT&T Stadium.

The Dallas Cowboys will play the Washington Commanders in Week 7 and they’ll do so with CeeDee Lamb. The star Cowboys wide receiver confirmed to reporters on Thursday that not only will he take the field but he’ll do it without a pitch count. Lamb added he would have been able to play in Carolina in Week 6 but Dallas opted to give him more time to rehab.

Lamb’s return isn’t a surprise considering he wasn’t placed on Injured Reserve—which would have forced him to miss a minimum four games—when he suffered his injury in Week 3. What is a surprise, is that Lamb’s return isn’t the biggest injury news surrounding Cowboys vs. Commanders.

Instead, it is that the Commanders are seriously banged up heading into gameday, with three of their stars being jeopardy for the weekend.

Commanders are really hurt ahead of Cowboys game

Despite expectations of Terry McLaurin returning in time for the big NFC East showdown, the No. 1 wide receiver was downgraded from a limited participant on Wednesday to a “Did Not Participate” on Thursday. Commanders head coach Dan Quinn said earlier in the week Quinn was going to practice this week.

And that’s not it. The Commanders could also be down WR Deebo Samuel, who was been one of their best weapons this year. Samuel missed the first two practices of the week with a heel injury that was visibly bothering him on Monday Night Football. If Samuel and McLaurin can’t go, Jayden Daniels will be down his top two pass-catchers.

And on defense? Their best player and former Cowboys DE Dorance Armstrong also missed Wednesday and Thursday. If Washington is going to pull off the road win at AT&T Stadium, it will have to be while seriously banged up.

Meanwhile, things are looking good for the Cowboys. In addition to Lamb, the offense is also expected to get right guard Tyler Booker back. Return specialist KaVontae Turpin should also be back and he will also give the offense a boost thanks to his threatening speed.

LB Jack Sanborn (concussion) is also trending toward a return on defense. The only non-participant on the team this week has been backup guard Trevor Keegan. The Cowboys will announce game statuses on Friday at 4:00 p.m. ET.
