The Kansas City Chiefs have been much improved on offense this season, but had a rough outing during their 28-21 loss to the Buffalo Bills last week.

That was Kansas City’s lowest point total since Week 3. The offense converted just 3-13 third down opportunities, and quarterback Patrick Mahomes threw zero touchdown passes. One key sequence during the game was when the Chiefs were held out of the endzone from the one-yard line on three straight plays, leading to settling for a field goal heading into halftime.

Jason Kelce urges Chiefs to start using the controversial “Tush Push” play

The future Hall of Fame center is an expert on the “Tush Push,” having led the way to execute the play countless times. While Jason and his brother — Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce — were recapping K.C.’s matchup against the Bills, Jason argued that the offense should have executed the “Tush Push” before the end of the first half.

“We got to be able to Tush Push that thing in,” Jason said. “We need to get the tush push down. We need (backup TE) Noah Gray, or somebody over there, to get the tush push down. That’s how they (the Bills) scored every time they got to the one-yard line, Josh Allen with the Tush Push.

“The Philadelphia Eagles, that’s how we score every time we get to the one-yard line. You can’t go into halftime only getting three points because you don’t got a Tush Push in the playbook. I get that Pat (Patrick Mahomes) can’t do the Tush Push because he’s got funky knees, but we got to have somebody doing the Tush Push.”

Travis Kelce disagrees with Jason on the “Tush Push”

The Chiefs haven’t ran any form of a QB sneak since Mahomes injured his knee on one back in 2019. Travis disagreed with his brother on the team needing to adopt the “Tush Push” play, citing running back Kareem Hunt’s success on short-yardage situations.

“Or we just give the ball to Kareem Hunt, who’s one of the best right now at short-yardage situations,” Travis responded. “I don’t want anything to do with it. I’m good with just running our play-action rollout with Patty Mahomes.”
