HOT NEWS: Chiefs are fiercely opposed by Lions after a series of refereeing controversies – The truth behind the incident that shocked the entire NFL. According to many internal sources, Lions officials have officially filed a complaint with the NFL Disciplinary Committee, accusing the referee of blatant bias in favor of the Chiefs in key plays, changing the outcome of the game. The fan community is “storming” on social networks with millions of angry comments, while sports experts say this could be the biggest refereeing scandal in years…

The Kansas City Chiefs are still getting some smack talk from the Detroit Lions about the refs in their game.

Some controversies just don’t seem to go away, and this might be one of them. It’s been a few days since the Kansas City Chiefs played the Detroit Lions during Sunday Night Football on October 12, and the NFL is still talking about pretty much everything that went down during this game. The Chiefs reclaimed their spot as the darlings of the NFL on Sunday with a 30-17 win over the Lions, but it wasn’t a simple win and we’re done. Following the game, plenty of drama happened.

Of course, the big news was a fight that broke out on the field. Following the game, Lions player Brian Branch appeared to snub Mahomes and hit Chiefs player Juju Smith-Schuster, and it turned into a messy battle. It’s too bad to see this kind of fighting in the NFL. The game of football is rough enough without there being auxiliary fights. For the fight, the NFL has suspended Branch one game.

After the game, Mahomes told the press, “We play the game in between the whistles. They can do all the extracurricular stuff they want to do, but we play the game in between the whistles. And we thought we played a great game today, and we’ll keep this momentum moving forward.”

But, there’s was another controversy. During the game, Detroit Lions quarterback Jared Goff scored a touchdown on a trick play that was walked back by the refs. Now, Lions head coach Dan Campbell is commenting on it.

So, let’s talk about that call. Early in the game, Goff made a scoring touchdown, but it was called back by the games’ referees after saying that Goff and the Lions offense had not executed the trick play properly. The flag on that play came later than usual, making it confusing and, well, upsetting to those on the Lions’ side. But, the touchdown was overturned, and the rest is history.

Campbell talked about the incident during his Wednesday, October 15, radio appearance on 97.1 FM The Ticket. On the call, Campbell said that he was told the league office in New York City had told the on the ground crew that the touchdown needed to be overturned. But, Craig Wrolstad, the head referee in the game, told reporters after the matchup that they actually didn’t get any call from the New York office on reversing the touchdown. So, what really happened?

Either way, it’s giving the Detroit Lions another reason to whine about the result of the game. They also noted that the Chiefs hardly had any penalties called, while the Lions had plenty.

Also following the game, Detroit Lions player Kerby Joseph took to social media and shared on his X account a reaction image showing that he was pretty unhappy with how this almost incompletion from Travis Kelce was still ruled a catch. In another post on X, he reacted to Kelce not getting called for what appeared to be a hold as the Chiefs moved to make a first down. Joseph also shared a photo of Mahomes during the game chatting with a ref.

Frankly, at least Joseph took his frustration out online and not on the field by punching anyone.
